Reba (Becky) Nichols : Painting, Photography, Mixed MediaReba (Becky) Nichols enjoys working in a variety of art media. Most recently, she has been creating collages of her artwork and photographs.
She is inspired by the landscape of Maine, although she appreciates the distinctive qualities of different environments. Reba intuitively abstracts and reorders the landscape's components, whether the subject is Mt. Katahdin or the hills and valleys of her own compost pile.
"I want to communicate a natural intimacy and freedom while recognizing the boundaries of contemporary form. I apply this view and technique to all of my designs and constructions."
An artist all of her life, Reba has lived and has been educated in art studio and art history in the Midwest, the South and in Maine.
